The First Amendment guarantees our basic rights. These rights are unique in the world. Dictators always remove these rights as they take over.
Every nation that moved towards Socialism in the last 100 years refused to grant these freedoms.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) denied religious freedom. They murdered hundreds of thousands of men, women and children as a result.
The National Socialist Party (Natzi Party)murdered millions.
The Chinese Communists murdered millions.
Religious oppression is rampant around the world. As our nation moves radically Left will we also lose our freedom to work, worship, and promote Christian ethics and values?
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
The move toward suppression of Christianity makes our equipping of nationals even more important. It is dangerous and expensive to send Americans overseas to live and minister.
That is why SLS places so much emphasis on training folks to be salt and light in their own cultures, including America where witnessing is increasingly difficult.
