What Leadership Approach Tends to Backfire?




We talk? They balk.(R)

We squawk?  They walk.

We care? They share.

We insist? They resist.

The old model: great diagnosis, correct prescription, give to the patient. One must be an expert in diagnosis and interventions. The patient needs to be passive.

The new model: great diagnosis, correct prescriptions, great assessment of motivation by patient and her support system. The expert must know how to facilitate problem solving with the patient and her support system. The key us an active patient.
