Merry Christmas
Why say Merry Christmas and sing Christmas carols such as Silent Night?
Why do we give gifts and put up a tree at Christmas?
Why is it silly to fill the air with silly songs like Rocking Around the Christmas Tree instead of singing Away in a Manger?
Because the Reason for the Season is the birth of Christ and all the supernatural events surrounding it.
This morning a good friend at McDonald's said, "Happy Holidays" to me. There is nothing wrong with indicating we have a holiday because it really means "Happy Holy Day". (Whoops! Now the PC Police will ban holiday as well as Christmas.)
However, when Mark said it I reacted by saying, "Merry Christmas Mark! I am not going to be PC this year."
WOW! A dozen people turned, smiled and said, "Merry Christmas!"
It is all about Jesus Christ. Remember that fact.
