The Greatest is___________________ ?

Heidi Baker and her husband have been in ministry for many years. However, over the past decade they have become famous for the amazing miracles that God does in their meetings and presence.

There is a lot of sickness and pain in the world. As the population grows poverty grows right along with sickness, psychopathology and satanic attacks. Even though we are developing better medicines and better treatments the total number of people in pain is growing. We need a bigger growth in healing than the growth in population and sickness.

For example, the state of Ohio reported last year that 20.9% of all children in Ohio have a Medical diagnosis of some degree. Some are very extreme and some are mild, but one in five have a delay or disease of some sort. That is several hundred thousand people. In the same pew as you each Sunday will very likely be two or three families who care for a disabled child to say nothing about the growing elderly population with various disabilities. The result? WE need a lot more healing.

What is the key to healing? If I want to help do I need an advanced degree? Should I wait until I am holy? should I seek a special gift? Do I need to attend a healing conference?

All of these are good and might help, but they are not the most important part of healing. St. Paul told us in I CO 13 what is most important. These three remain, faith, hope and love and the greatest is ____________

Here is what Heidi Baker says is most important:

'My job is to love, God's job is to heal'

“God spoke to me many times that my job is to love, and His job is to heal,” says Heidi Baker, a missionary to Mozambique. When asked how she prays with people for healing, she responds: “I just go and love the people. I hug and hold them and bless them as a person. I pray for their healing.

Over the last 3.5 years we’ve seen almost 100 percent of the deaf in Mozambique we prayed for healed. But with the blind it has probably been 70 percent. So we also build homes for the blind, places where they’re taken care of and loved. And we invite them to be part of the ministry team and pray for others to be healed.” It’s always about pouring out love and compassion.

Sometimes we’re so interested in the end result that we forget the person along the way. And if it’s about sharing compassion and love you can’t fail, because people leave feeling loved and that’s what matters.”

This week in Joel News International encouraging stories on healing, a church for people with learning difficulties, and Christians unite in the fight against corruption.

Can we learn to love? No but we can improve our love skills with prayer, worship and listening.

Hi Gary,
I am deeply touched by this post...I've always thought that loving people HAD to be a part of the healing process...since Jesus summed up the New Testament: Love God, Love People. So good to know that something I am readily able(With the Holy Spirit's help) and willing to do can help bring healing to those in need! Thanks for the post!
