What The Families Told Us They Needed

We did a yearlong research study with families who had a young child with a disability. Every month we asked them to fill out a check list of items about their stresses, strengths and strategies to improve. The enclosed video from Vimeo come from a talk I did at the Remarkable Families Symposium at Xavier University. In it I summarize the results of our research. thing.

There are many writers, bloggers and seminars that try to help people understand the best ways to support a disabled person. There is a growing number of resources and that is wonderful. However, there is very little available that alerts us to what these families think is important. Our small study can be a seed from which a lot more understanding can grow.

If interested in more go to the web and see what we have.
